Nicky Torode (Capacity Building Officer)

Nicky Torode is providing support and infrastructure development to three BAME (Black Asian and Minority Ethnic) organisations per year as part of Croydon BASIS partnership with Croydon Voluntary Action. She is based at ARCC for one day a week. The post is for a period of three years and is being funded by the Big Lottery BASIS programme. The work will build on the existing work carried out by ARCC on infrastructure for small to medium size community groups in Croydon.

Nicky has 14 years of experience in the voluntary sector, including working in the UK and overseas for international Non-Governmental human rights Organisations on ethnic minority rights projects. At the local level she has worked in London for a variety of community organisations including a local empowerment network, a tenant's federation and a Bangladeshi carer's organisation.
